Hendrik Diers is Senior Research Associate at EWI and is a doctoral candidate at the University of Cologne. His research focuses on quantitative modeling of gas and electricity markets. In consulting projects for clients from industry and the public sector, he dealt, for example, with the effects of the energy crisis of 2022, advising, among others, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK). In addition, he deals with questions of market design and long-term price formation in these markets. Before joining EWI, Hendrik Diers studied Economics at the University of Cologne and the University of Bonn (Germany), as well as the University of Hong Kong (China) and the Norwegian School of Economics (Norway).
