The desired transformation of the energy supply to climate neutrality poses enormous challenges for society and politics. At the latest, the war in Ukraine has also brought questions of energy security back to the forefront of people’s minds.
Renowned speakers have been invited to address various economic policy aspects of energy supply, and to present and discuss their insights. In the course of this series of lecture series, fundamental questions of the energy industry and security of supply will first be clarified and the European guidelines for German energy policy will be addressed. Then a global perspective will be taken and the development of energy supply structures in the Global South and the resulting questions of development cooperation will be elaborated. In addition, competition policy issues in energy supply will be addressed and the distributional effects of currently proposed or implemented policy measures will be examined. Together with the speakers, the participants will discuss the economic policy challenges and how energy policy can be shaped in the coming years and decades.
