The German government’s energy concept and the subsequent Federal Climate Protection Act (KSG) have set binding greenhouse gas reduction targets in the various sectors as permissible annual emission levels. The compliance with these climate protection targets requires a fast and extensive development of PtX technologies in order to store the fluctuating renewable energies and to be able to supply them to a demand-oriented use as well as a cross-sectoral integration of different energy systems. The partners of the Virtual Institute Electricity to Gas and Heat are now publishing the first results in four volumes as part of the project “Competence Center VI SGW”. Further publications will follow in the fall of 2022.
