Important key factors for the work of the University of Cologne are the internationalisation strategies and the shaping of the Sustainable Development Goals.
One of the best practice projects of this strategy is the BaSEF- project or “Building a Sustainable Energy Future – An Egyptian-German Cooperation” in cooperation with the Energy Economics Institute of the University of Cologne (EWI). During the DAAD Egypt event, the International Office of the UzK will present the German-Egyptian cooperation of the university. Afterwards, the EWI researchers will give insights into the work of the institute. In particular, the topic of hydrogen for the decarbonisation of the energy landscape in Germany will be explained to the participants. Afterwards, the role of Egyptian hydrogen in meeting the German demand for hydrogen will be discussed with the participants. In this way, the EWI researchers would like to stimulate the energy industry dialogue between the two countries with regard to the production of green hydrogen, among other things.
