The impact of the Corona pandemic on climate change issues is the subject of controversy in the press and public: Did lockdown and contact restrictions over CO2 mitigation make important climate change goals more tangible? Or has the pandemic fight also completely pushed issues such as climate protection out of the spotlight?
Fabian Arnold shows what impact COVID-19 has on German and global power generation and thus on CO2 emissions. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Konen sheds light on the CO2 costs of video streaming and the contradictory literature on this, and Prof. Dr. Lisa Fröhlich focuses on the massive impact of the pandemic on supply chains, including its environmental consequences. Following the three keynote speeches, the joint panel of experts will focus on the impact of the pandemic on climate protection and questions from the participants.
