Matti Liski as Laureate at 3rd Felix Höffler Memorial Lecture

In order to honor the memory of its director, Prof. Dr. Felix Höffler, who passed away in 2019, the Institute of Energy Economics (EWI) at the University of Cologne has established the Felix Höffler Memorial Lecture. Within the framework of this lecture, an internationally renowned economist is regularly invited to engage in scientific exchange with doctoral students and to give a lecture on an energy economics topic. Previous awardees and guest speakers were Professor Shmuel Oren from the University of California at Berkeley and Professor Richard Green from the Business School at Imperial College London.

The third Felix Höffler Memorial Lecture will be held on 14 February 2023 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Auditorium II in the main building at the University of Cologne. This year’s award winner is Matti Liski. Liski is a professor of economics at Aalto University School of Business, Helsinki, where he is currently the head of the department. His other affiliations include Helsinki GSE, University of Cambridge EPRG, CESifo Munich, MIT CEEPR, and Toulouse School of Economics. Matti focuses on applied microeconomics, both theoretical and empirical, with industrial organization, public policy, energy markets, and climate change.
